Speech to Text German

German Voice to Text

Over 100 million native speakers use German across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Luxembourg. Narakeet’s German voice to text tool recognises three major dialect groups — Bundesdeutsch, Austrian German and Swiss Standard German — and produces clean text from any recording type: business meetings, academic lectures, podcast episodes or personal notes.

Select the right dialect before uploading and the audio to text converter German speakers need handles the rest. Your transcript is ready to copy, adjust or export within minutes. Use Narakeet as a German transcription service that runs entirely in the browser.

German Transcription Service - How Does It Work?

The German transcription service works in five steps:

  1. Open the Audio to Text page
  2. Upload a German audio or video file
  3. Select Germany, Austria or Switzerland as the target dialect
  4. Wait while the engine produces your transcript
  5. Copy the output or download it

Voice to text German runs server-side, so there is nothing to install. Account creation is optional — you can test the Deutsch speech to text tool immediately. Supported dialects: Germany (de-DE), Austria (de-AT) and Switzerland (de-CH).

German Audio Transcription - Common Questions

What audio formats can I transcribe?

You can transcribe files in MP3, WAV, M4A, MP4, AVI and other common audio and video formats. The tool automatically extracts the audio track from video uploads. If your format is not listed, contact us and we will look into adding it.

How long can my German audio file be?

Free accounts support recordings up to 60 minutes per file. Commercial plans support longer recordings, and the limit can be increased on request. There is no strict limit on file duration. Longer files take more time to process, but you can transcribe full-length recordings, lectures and interviews.

Does it support Austrian and Swiss German?

Yes. Narakeet supports three German dialects: Germany (de-DE), Austria (de-AT) and Switzerland (de-CH). Select the appropriate dialect before transcribing for the best accuracy.
